Joan is an incredible human being, momma of Jessie, who had Cystic Fibrosis, and now a CF trailblazer who tirelessly fundraises for the cause. Through all of this, she has changed the way our community sees this devastating disease .
I can’t even begin to imagine what it would be like to have a child with CF and the journey that Joan and her family have been on. Somehow, she has found the strength to be a bright light for parents who are navigating the challenges of caring for a child who is chronically ill.
Run For The Lung has been held at our Original Joe’s Terwillegar in honor of her daughter, Jessie, for the past 15 years. I am so blessed to know Joan, to have known Rob Sokil, and to have been a part of this life-changing event.
